So from the material point of view, zinc oxide varistor is a kind of "Ⅱⅵ oxide semiconductor". In Taiwan, the varistor is known as a "surge absorber" and is sometimes called an "electric shock (Inrush) suppressor" (absorber). Pressure-sensitive resistor is a voltage-limiting protection device. Using the nonlinear characteristics of varistor, when overvoltage occurs between the two poles of the varistor, the varistor can be voltage clamped to a relatively fixed voltage value to achieve the protection of the back-stage circuit.
